PERSPECTIVE
VISION OF THE GOOD LEADER
You can be a good leader in your country, or community,
or company, and family, by following in pursuit of the pattern
of inspired leadership that comes from God, for the good of all mankind, the progress of nations and protecting the environment across the globe.
We do see Jesus, who was for a short while made less than the angels, now crowned with glory and honour because he submitted to death; so that by God’s grace his experience of death should benefit all humanity. It was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should, in bringing many sons to glory, make perfect through suffering the leader of their salvation. For consecrator and consecrated are all of the same stock; that is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers. ( Hebrew 2: 9 – 11).
MISSION STATEMENT
Being mindful that we have been divinely called to be good leaders, we strongly believe in God to guide us in all that we do: And, with this confidence and zeal, we outline the following:
-
That, when we all focus on the right issues and persist on pursing the right course, as doing the right things, always, with true humility of servants of God and man, we will be reflecting, by our actions, our firm determination to doing the will of God, as we sow the seeds that bring enduring changes in the lives of people, throughout the world – positive changes, no doubt.
-
That, we all should embrace as children of One Love, the idea of this Good Leaders International Conference, to inspire greater awareness and celebration of God’s love for all mankind, for “the rebuilding and healing of society, through strengthening ties of oneness and co-existence across national, ethnic, cultural and religious boundaries” and, doing so, with joy of heart.
-
That, also, as we participate in the conference, we should endeavour to listen to the unique perspectives of other people, from all walks of life, that give us deeper meanings and understanding of life; and, such that, from our diverse opinions and positions, we might be able to reach some compromises, through dialogue and friendly exchange of views.
-
That, we truly welcome reasoned contributions and sound judgement from all well-meaning quarters, to make the world a better, prosperous and more secured place for all mankind, free of hatred, wickedness, violence, rancour and bitterness; and we equally appreciate the vitality and integrity that spring from our broad range of educational, national, professional, ethnic, cultural, religious, geographical, gender and economic backgrounds.
-
That, notwithstanding our own truly esteemed positions as leaders in various fields, we are willing to imbibe and practise humility and simplicity of heart, and tolerance, through patience and love: seeing things that are good in others; and, also, wishing others well, by reaching out to them, whether they be strangers or enemies; and, there-by, from little gestures of love, to bold efforts and initiatives, making the conference such a great gift to the world, to come out with genuine life-giving answers and solutions that benefit the generality of people in our world, that we see before us, even if we do not come in contact with them, and also, those that we normally interact with, in our daily lives.
-
And, finally, recognising, that by marshalling all our joint efforts, together with the goodwill of people of the world, in whatever region or country they may be, we can help to build, a spiritually strong and virile international community, that knows and worships God Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth.
OBJECTIVES
-
To give voice to the core values of diverse humanity, from their national, ethnic, cultural and religious perspectives, as they strive for peace, understanding, good neighbourliness and democratic governance, according to the rule of law and human freedom.
-
To encourage the free flow of ideas, for deeper understanding of our shared human values that sustain our concern for dignity of the human person, the preservation of life and happiness for all, based on respect for others, fairness and integrity of justice, as
commitment to follow divine injunction that all mankind are one.
-
To bring to the attention of the peoples of the world, as we go to different countries, virtues of Godliness and dedication to His service, and the service of mankind, through humility and simplicity of heart, support for justice, integrity, honour, honesty, peace
and respect for the human life.
-
To show the way for nations to make genuine and constructive progress by bringing people to work and live together, in harmony, just as they pursue social, political and economic solutions to problems within or across national boundaries.
-
To spur governments, at all levels, to see individual characteristics and talents, as the fundamental driving force for creativity and the rise of new ways of doing things, through which, we attain successes in human endeavours; and to channel these, for the good of all mankind.
-
To inspire among all peoples, above all, the fear of God, love of their fellow men and women, concern for theenvironment and security of life and property.
AIM
To inspire greater awareness and celebration of God’s love for all mankind.
THEME
Compassion and love of the humble of heart, free of hatred, wickedness, violence, rancour and bitterness.
PARTICIPATION
A broad-based participation of leaders from all walks of life, peacemakers and all people of goodwill, coming from all parts of the world, is at the heart of the objective of organising this
conference. And, of course, it is to ensure a critical mass of different shades of views and opinions, reflecting the diversity of the human race, as we strive to create room for all to express themselves and work out their differences in harmony.
Among those that have been invited to the conference, are leaders from government to business, development agencies, educational institutions, religious and civil groups and bodies. For, indeed, the issues of rebuilding and healing society, through strengthening ties of oneness and peaceful co-existence, good governance and development, cannot realistically be approached to serve mere parochial interests, and or, structured to eliminate objectivity and inclusiveness, that is open and fair to all. |
